Copyright notice

During submission authors are asked to affirm that an article is original and does not infringe on any legal or personal rights (e.g. copyright, libel or privacy). It does not violate the copyrights of any third party or is free from any plagiarism.

All papers will be published open access under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence which allows readers to disseminate and reuse the paper, but always requires them to grant the authors. Authors retain copyright in their articles, but grant KU Press the right of the first publication. When publishing that paper the copyright may continue to be held by the author.

If the manuscript contains any previously published material, the author(s) should provide obtained permission for any third party content and we need to receive a copy of all permissions prior to manuscript acceptance.

The journal comply with I4OC standards for open citations. Open means that citation data must be freely accessible and reusable without restrictions. The Initiative for Open Citations I4OC is a collaboration between scholarly publishers, researchers, and other interested parties to promote the unrestricted availability of scholarly citation data.

Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) with regard to the different versions of the paper prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as greater citation of published work.

“All rights reserved” and "Fair use" contradict  the terms of the open access policy.
