The Lithuanian genitive case is a category of complex semantics that consists of many interrelated meanings: possession, quantity, goal, material and many others. However, the present explorations of the Lithuanian genitive case have been carried out according to different theories, thus now Lithuanian linguistics lacks a comprehensive and consistent analysis. Therefore, the aim of this article is to review the findings of the existing Lithuanian genitive case researches, compare meaning descriptions of the Lithuanian genitive case provided therein and, having regard to the most important Cognitive Grammar principles, to provide critical insights why it would be important and significant to explore the genitive case according to the Cognitive Grammar principles, which have been being actively applied in foreign linguistics for the last two decades.
2017 m. gegužės 5 d. pakirstas klastingos ligos mirė vienas iš Klaipėdos universiteto kūrėjų ir puoselėtojų docentas daktaras Antanas Lukoševičius. A. Lukoševičius gimė Pušalote 1954 m. vasario 14 d. 1977 m. baigęs Vilniaus universiteto Filologijos fakultetą 3 metus dirbo mokytoju, klasės auklėtoju Panevėžio rajono Krekenavos vidurinėje mokykloje. Apie pirmąją darbovietę visam gyvenimui išliko šviesūs įspūdžiai. Geru žodžiu Antanas visuomet minėjo savo auklėtinius, buvusius bendradarbius. Praėjus daugeliui metų ir kolegoms, ir studentams jis šmaikščiai, su linksmomis detalėmis papasakodavo nuotaikingų, prasmingų istorijų apie savo pedagoginės karjeros pradžią. Mokytojavimo patirtis sustiprino jo pedagoginį pašaukimą, o kartu nulėmė ir tolesnį profesinį kelią.

The descriptions in sources indicate that the nature of the therapeutic assistance they provided varied according to the magic activity they performed. The healing activities of vaidilučiai have not been systematically studied. This article analyses data on the therapeutic activities of different groups of vaidilučiai in 15th to 18th-century written sources, and identifies traces of these activities in 19th to 21st-century folk medicine based on archival records and the author’s healing faith records. The research helps us to trace the meaning and origins of some therapeutic methods of folk medicine, and the possible development of traditions.
The article examines the transformation and modification of the image of Sofia in the sories of poems cycle by Alexander Blok “Verses about the Beautiful Lady” and the collection of poms by Andrei Bely “Gold in Azure”. The author shows that the image of Sophia Celestial is represented in the works of poets-symbolists at all levels of religious and poetic consciousness, viz. at religious and mystical, ordinary and philosophical ones. It is noted that the image of Sophia, borrowed by the young symbolists from the philosophy of V. Solovyov, is associated in the poetry of A. Blok with the cult of Eternal femininity, and in the creativity of A. Belyy – with solar symbolism.
In the article on the basis of the comparative and typological analysis of phonetic systems of the Russian, Latvian and Lithuanian literary languages the facts of the Latvian-Russian and Lithuanian-Russian phonetic interference are systematized. The typology of the phonetic interference, offered by U. Weinreich, is used for this purpose. Four types of a phonetic interference are considered: insufficient differentiation of phonemes, superdifferentiation of phonemes, reinterpretation of distinctions, substitution of sounds. The typology forms theoretical base for forecasting of a phonetic interference.

2018 m. birželio15–16 d. Klaipėdos universitete vyko 4-oji tarptautinė tarpdalykinė mokslinė konferencija „Baltų kalbos ir kultūros 4“. Baltijos valstybių šimtmečio proga surengtoje konferencijoje diskutuota apie svarbiausius kultūrinės tapatybės ženklus – kalbą, tautinę ir valstybinę savimonę, istorinį ir kultūrinį paveldą, šių dėmenų tarpusavio sąveiką, funkcijas ir vertes, iškilusias grėsmes ir uždavinius globalizacijos sąlygomis. Konferencijos moto saugotina sutelkė įvairių sričių mokslininkus kalbėti svarbiomis temomis: kokie kalbinio ir kultūrinio paveldo objektai ir/ar elementai verti apsaugos ir kodėl, koks yra jų ištirtumo lygis, kokios tyrimo kryptys vaisingos, kaip tyrimai pritaikomi ir koks rezultatas.
The main aim of this scientific research is the need for a detailed elaboration and introduction into scientific circulation materials of archbishop who was a tireless researcher – Filaret (Gumilevsky). The analysis of his scientific and popular scientific heritage is seen through the prism of his life. The article shows how his pastoral work seamlessly combined with a deep understanding of the importance of popularizing knowledge of ethnology. Great part of the information which was presented on the pages of the diocesan newspaper later will be the basis of a thorough seven volume work “Historical and statistical description of Chernigov eparchy” (1873–1876), and was written by Filaret.
