Over the years, improved techniques for production and processing of food have resulted in the expansion of our food supply byprolonging keeping times, preventing spoilage and increasing the variety of food products available. The use of new technologies infood production has potential benefits for both food manufactures and consumers. But one of the question raising is how consumersreact to the new technologies and how does it impact their choice to buy or not to buy such kind of food. This article examines howthe new technologies in food production (genetic engineering, nanotechnologies, cloning) affect consumer choice to purchase foodobtained through these technologies. Different literature and scientific data available were summarized to find out the main reasonswhat affect consumers’ attitude towards new technologies in food production. Results suggest that the willingness to consume foodobtained with help of new technologies is directly influenced by the risk consumers perceive and the perception of risk is more directthan the perception of supposed benefits.

The article deals with the problem of “ultra small region”, which being the independent subject of the West European countries, istheir territorial, political and economic part, possessing constitutional independence. The initial factors of such regions special statusare national-cultural ethos type and geopolitical position. The goal of the article is the identification of ultra-small territories, revealingfeatures of their economic development and the modern trade status in a world and European trade system context. Ultra-smalltrade is diversified geographically and the main trading partners of these autonomous areas are the large highly developed countries,except for the four neighboring countries of Northern Europe. The main summing up conclusion is that Ålands and Faeroes island’sultra-small autonomous territories are converting nowadays into the business bridges between different European regions and countries,into the “competitive sub-peripheries” areas and points out the role of their trade in this conversion.

The article deals with the relation of electronic government (further – e.government) and electronic business (further – e.business)in public procurement. A special focus is on the theory analysis of e.government and e.business, on the legal regulation of publicprocurement in the European Union (further – the EU). The authors of the article analyse public procurement paying attention to theLithuanian membership experience in the EU. They also state the arising problems and difficulties in public procurement. The stateof small and medium-sized business (further – SMB) in the process of implementing public procurement is discussed, too.

Akcentuojama,kad strategiškai mąstantys vadovai, priimdami verslo sprendimus, didelį dėmesį skiria aplinkai ir jos teikiamoms galimybėms,pasekmių ir rezultatų analizei apie ateitį ir galimas jos kryptis, grįžtamajam ryšiui ir mokymuisi; visai organizacijai bei santykiųtinkamumui organizacijos viduje. Rengiant straipsnį išanalizuoti ir apibendrinti moksliniai šaltiniai, apklausti Vilniaus, Klaipėdos,Kauno, Šiaulių, Telšių regionų įmonių vadovai, kurie vadovauja rinkoje įsitvirtinusioms ir tarpusavyje konkuruojančioms prekybosbei gamybos pobūdžio paslaugų įmonėms. Tyrimo rezultatai patvirtino hipotezę, kad vadovai, strategiškai mąstantys priimdamiverslo sprendimus, pasiekia aukštų veiklos rezultatų.

Regionams tampant ekonominio ir socialinio gyvenimo pagrindu, įmonės į savo veiklos strategijas turi įtraukti nacionaliniu ir regioniniupagrindu susiformavusias vertybes bei socialinius poreikius. Kompanijos, ypač tarptautinės, turi suderinti regioninę integracijąsu regionine atsakomybe. Straipsnyje analizuojama įmonių socialinės atsakomybės, kaip regioninės plėtros strategijų priemonės,koncepcija. Pagrindinė suformuluota išvada – įmonių veiklos rezultatai ir regionų išsivystymas yra glaudžiai susiję.

Straipsnyje, nustačius, kad produkto vertės sampratos dvilypis aspektas kainodaroje apibendrintai nenagrinėtas, pasitelkus mokslinėsliteratūros sisteminimo ir analizės metodus apibūdintos dvi skirtingos vertės sąvokos: vertė vartotojui ir vartotojų suvokiama vertė.Pripažįstant, kad vartotojų pasirinkimas priklauso nuo to, kokią vertę jam teikia įmonės pasiūlymas, kainodaros proceso etapai analizuojamivertės kūrimo vartotojui ir vartotojų suvokiamos vertės susiejimo aspektu. Rekomenduojama vertės kūrimo, nustatymo, teikimoir palaikymo etapuose atlikti veiksmus, susijusius su produkto vertės vartotojui kūrimu ir tobulinimu, bei veiksmus, susijusiussu vartotojų suvokiamos vertės nustatymu. Aprašyti produkto vertės vartotojui kūrimo modeliai: ekonominio pelno teorija (EVA),produkto kūrimo proceso (PKP) vartotojo vertės modelis, rizikos vertės metodas dizaino struktūros matrica (DSM). Akcentuojantdarnaus ekonominio vystymosi prielaidas Lietuvoje ir siekiant tyrimų pagrindu kurti regioninę politiką, sudarytas integruotas modelis,kuris atskleidžia produkto vertės kūrimo etapus kainodaros procese.

Darnaus vystymosi idėjų ir principų taikymas šių dienų plėtros procesuose, be abejo, yra populiari, diskutuotina pastarųjų metųmokslinė tema. Vis dėlto tai nepadeda atskleisti kai kurių darnaus vystymosi tyrimo problemų, nenusako to, kaip darnus vystymasisįvertinamas tam tikruose etapuose ir kaip išskiriami rodikliai, padedantys apskaičiuoti procesą. Šio straipsnio tikslas – pateikti metodologiją,kaip, autoriaus nuomone, būtų galima išskirti rodiklius, kurie tiktų vertinti įvairių procesų darną. Straipsnyje aptariamiįvairių procesų vystymosi veiksniai, aplinkos būklės saugumo kriterijai, apimantys skirtingas sritis.

The border effect of Russian and Belarusian border on Latgale electoral district has been analysed in this research. The proportionof Latvians in Latgale border area is a lot smaller in total than in the rest of the Latgale territory and the proportion of all the rest ofthe ethnic minorities in the border area is a lot higher while the number of votes for political parties with a mostly Latvian citizenelectorate is proportionally higher. The obtain results indicate that the border effect on the election results for political parties is notstatistically significant.

Russia continues to play an important role energy exporter to the EU. Research objective: to generalize and structure economic interestsof the European Union and Russia in power sphere, and to define priority directions of the international economic cooperationat corporate level. Research methods: economic-statistical; rather-analytical, the investment analysis. International cooperation inthe field of EU energy supply should not be limited mineral exports. It is advisable to involve Russian companies to finance andmanagement segment “downstream” in European countries, by contrast, Western European companies – to finance and managementsegment “upstream” in Russia.
