Abstract
The article presents the research that reveals the complexity of the patient hospital choice process and, in the context of the research data, enables the evaluation of the patient hospital choice factors influencing their decision. The problem of hospital choice is topical both in Lithuania and other EU and world countries. It is a complex process that requires the evaluation of the poly-functionality of the choice factors: the character of the patient disease and their state of health, the characteristics of the hospital, the interactive relationship between the hospital staff, the patient’s relatives, and Internet access. The research sample consisted of 477 participants aged between 18 and 89, treated in various hospitals throughout the country. Based on the results of the research presented in the article, one can argue that the factors having the greatest impact on patients’ choice of hospital include the advice of friends and significant others, personal experience, and the advice of their family doctor. The main prerequisites for choosing a hospital named by the patient respondents were the qualification of the medical staff, the quality of health care, communication between doctors and patients, the geographical location of the hospital, and its accessibility.

The authors of the article analysed and summarised over 160 scientific publications. A detailed analysis of the development, clinical research, approval and registration procedures, reliability, safety and efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccine presented in the articles is presented. In this context, it was particularly important for the authors to present the doubts about the advantages of vaccination, and the reasons for refusing vaccination, evaluating the public information context. The role of the health care system is presented in the disclosure of the organisation of the vaccination process in the country, especially in the identification of priority groups of vaccinees, and in the monitoring of vaccinated people. The results of the research analysed in the articles suggest that all registered Covid-19 vaccines are sufficiently reliable, safe and effective, and timely public information is of great importance for vaccination coverage. The central role of the health care system in organising and managing the vaccination process has proven its worth. The vaccination process is managed and controlled in the country.

Though the increased accessibility of health care services and improvement of the quality, also reduction of social exclusion and unevenness of provision of health care services are declared as the main objectives (purpose) of restructurization, however increased number of inter hospital transfers and crowding of the Emergency Departments indicate the possible negative tendencies. One of the substantial (fundamental) requirement of the inter hospital transfers is the continuous emergency care during transportation. The article provides a unified concept of second transportation between hospitals. The survey results contain the points of specialists and executives of emergency medical assistance on the current management situation of inter hospital patient flow and the ways how the management of patient flow can be improved. The study was made using questionnaire survey, the questions were divided into separate groups by the objectives of this study.
