The article focuses on the drinking habits of Swedish higher education students at the beginning of the 21st century. The main aim of the research is to determine the traditions of alcohol consumption. In February and March 2021, a quantitative survey was conducted, with interviews among 96 students who had studied or were still studying in Sweden. The article presents the most common occasions on which students choose to consume alcohol, and discusses students’ choices of strong alcoholic beverages and their attitudes about alcohol consumption at student festivals and on other occasions. The research reveals that the pressure to consume alcohol is felt from friends. However, the consumption of strong alcoholic beverages is not evaluated negatively at student festivals.
The object of this publication is the anecdotes about famous people and personages of the movies and literature. The research helped to identify the most popular personages and describe the images of them. It can be done conclusion that in the anecdotes which are told in Lithuanian the personages of movies and literature are more popular than the real famous people (politicians, sportsmen or pop stars). The images of personages are ambivalent, they can be shown in positive situations but more often these personages are negative: the features of the characters are drawn ironically; the results of their activities are estimated in the mocking and even scornful way.
This article examines the attitudeof young people of age 18 to 30 from Lithuania, Latvia, Finland and Norway towards the national costume. The aim of this article is to analyze and determine how national costume is appreciated by the youth of countries mentioned before. The article briefly presents the preconditions for the emergence and creation of a nationalcostume; it analyzes what kind of information is lacking about national costume. The research was made in 2017-2018. Information was provided by 156 respondents. In conclusion, the worst situation is is between Finnish youth and the deepest traditions of costume‘s wearing has Norway. The results of Lithuanians reveal that national costume is not very important tradition, Latvians show the growing interest in the costume.
