Klaipėdos universitetas kitų respublikos aukštųjų mokyklų kontekste išsiskiria fundamentaliais Mažosios Lietuvos istorijos ir kultūros tyrimais. Vykdomi ilgalaikiai moksliniai projektai, išleista ir dar rengiama spaudai keletas monografijų, organizuojamos įvairios konferencijos, nuolat publikuojami straipsniai šia tema. Rugsėjo pabaigoje nemaža grupė Klaipėdos universiteto dėstytojų dalyvavo trijų dienų kultūrinėje programoje, skirtoje Mažosios Lietuvos lietuvių literatūros ir kultūros darbininko, pirmojo lietuvių poezijos istoriko ir kritiko, vertimo teorijos kūrėjo ir lietuvių kalbos praktiko Gotfrydo Ostermejerio (Gottfried Ostermeyer) 300-osioms gimimo metinėms pažymėti.
The article presents the oldest forms of puppet theatre in Samogitia, the use of puppets in their natural environment, from Church feasts to entertainment or educational activities with puppets in the home environment. It discusses the sources of puppet theatre in ethnic culture, presents the beginnings of the artistic language of puppet theatre in the spontaneous development of puppet theatre, from dolls and masks in ethnic culture and religious ceremonies, to playing with dolls in the home environment and family celebrations. Authentic testimonies from inhabitants of Samogitian towns and villages are presented: a real treasure for those exploring the material and intangible cultural heritage tradition of this region, introducing it into the region’s ethnic cultural space.

Abstract
The paper discusses the expression of childhood images in the creative works of three outstanding Lithuanian directors with different creative visions. Its aim is to explore and characterise some of the traits of childhood expression in the productions of Rimas Tuminas, Oskaras Koršunovas, and Eimuntas Nekrošius, as well as to discuss potential influences on the formation of their world outlooks and creative styles. The paper presents the key motiffs of childhood that made an impact on the development of the directorial concept and stylistic expression in one or another production. The author seeks to disclose the opportunities of artistic transformation of the events, impressions, or traumatic situations experienced in the childhood in the creative work of directors of different generations.
